5 Caves / Five Graves Makena Landing Dive Site in Maui

Home of the World Famous Bubble Cave!

This is a beginner to intermediate Scuba Dive Site, with depths of 45 feet on the outer reaches. Entrance to the dive is about a minute walk from the parking lot. This site is the south side of the point where Five Caves is located. You can find caves, arches to swim through, Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, White tip Sharks here and the fingers of lava that create the reef system. Go to the right side of beach & follow the reef on right when looking out to sea. There is restrooms and a shower.

The Bubble Cave is one of the Maui MUST SEE Dives!!! This is a lava tube that is in approximately 12 feet of water and goes back about 50 into a chamber that you can surface and remove your regulator and feel the air squeeze and water mist up as the surge comes and goes. Lots of turtles hang out inside along with white tip sharks.

Directions: At the South End of South Kihei Road., bear left up hill. Continue to the T, turn right to Makena Alanui. After 2.2 miles, turn right onto Makena Road. In .3 miles, you’ll see the entry.
